In this guide we explain step by step how to back up and restore data using Acronis. The same process can be used to backup and restore your data even on iPad.
Let's start first by asking why "Acronis True Image Cloud" is different from iTunes backup.
First and foremost through the use of a third party application you can save data without the aid of computers. Acronis also provides a centralized way to manage backups for different devices. The user will be able to browse, view and restore specific files, directly from your phone, but also from another mobile device connected to the same Acronis account.
Now we wonder why Acronis is different from iCloud backup.
Apple's cloud service backs up the same set of data, however, it has important differences which consist of:
• Difference 1: iCloud requires the user to manually start a backup when not connected to a power source. Acronis instead lets you set things up so that your backups happen automatically at any time, and in near real-time, if desired.
• Difference 2: The price of the storage space iCloud is more expensive while Acronis has an option of unlimited storage
• Difference 3: Acronis works across multiple platforms, including Android
HOW TO PERFORM A BACKUP WITH ACRONIS CLOUD
The first thing to do is download the application. To do so, connect App Store and let Acronis True Image Cloud. The installation is complete, starting the app will notice that it is necessary to have an Acronis account. If you have already, just enter your username and password, otherwise you need to create one; to do so, connect to the service website . The service can be used in evidence for 30 days if you just want to test its features.
• Step 1: Download the app "Acronis True Image Cloud" and register
• Step 2: In the Backup section, choose what you want to back up.
• Step 3: Touch the "Back Up Now" (Back up now button) to start the process. Acronis will ask for permission to access each type of selected data. Tap "OK" for each permit.
• Step 4: The backup will proceed from 0% to 100%; how long it takes really it depends on how much data you have. Feel free to use your phone as you normally would (also connected to a charger for example), the backup will continue in the background.
• Step 5: The backup is finished. The data are thus safely copied and stored in Acronis Cloud. From now on, the backup files are also accessible from multiple devices. You can only restore specific data (eg. Contacts, Photos etc ...), or all data on a different device.
HOW TO RECALL OF ACRONIS BACKUP DATA
The recovery of data is the most delicate part of each backup operation. Now we illustrate the process:
• Step 1: If you want to recover data on a new device, reinstall the app from the App Store Cloud Acronis True Image, and log on. Go to "Access and Recovery" (Access and Recovery) and you should see the device in the list. Tap the device where the files were backed up.
• Phase 2: a new device simply tap "Recover All" (All Recover) to copy all the data stored by the backup device.
If only a few files have been lost, you can simply browse through the files in the Acronis application until you find those missing. For example, if by chance has been deleted a photo, you can touch up photos and watch in the gallery of all the photos saved.
Tapping on a specific photo will open the picture in a screen with a "Recover" button (Restore) at the bottom. Just touch the button and the file will be copied from the backup cloud to your device. So repeat the process as many times as necessary until all previously lost files.
