Dropbox Paper is a team collaboration tool for sharing shared documents. Smart Sync is a feature that avoids downloading local files saved on the cloud.
Dropbox launched the final version of its application called Paper for iOS and Android devices, software that allows users to collaborate on documents stored on Dropbox cloud in real time. At the same time, Dropbox launched Smart Sync, a new feature that avoids local downloads of files stored on the cloud.
Dropbox Paper was launched in 2015 in private beta, then in August 2016 the beta was opened to all users eager to preview the software, which since January 31, 2017 is now available for everyone in a stable version (no longer 'In beta) via apps that can be downloaded from the Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS devices.
"We've built Dropbox Paper to help users collaborate on the same documents and share important information. It's a big part of how we're revising the way people work together," writes Dropbox in a post on his blog when announcing 'Paper .
Dropbox Paper allows groups of people to create, edit, and view shared documents. You can consider it as the equivalent of Google Docs and Microsoft Word Online, but with perhaps more limited functionality.
Users who have tried Paper in Beta have created over one million documents and have provided Dropbox with a lot of feedback to fix bugs and integrate functionality. Prior to the release of the final version, improvements were made by adding things like advanced tools and image galleries; Notifications for desktop, web, and mobile; And a powerful search engine to help users quickly find the documentation they are looking for. New Paper Mobile Applications allow you to get updates to your projects, make changes anytime, anywhere.
The app is so described in the Play Store:
Dropbox Paper helps teams work together on documents, find important information, and stay in sync - even while on the move. Any updates, modifications or comments made by other members of your team to the same document will be synced with your documents .
Teams can use Dropbox Paper as a collaboration tool for managing shared documents.

Dropbox Smart Sync
Dropbox Smart Sync is a feature that in recent months was being called Project Infinite, and was born with the purpose of making file synchronization across devices much easier, even if you do not have disk space Rigid device.
Prior to the launch of Smart Sync, Dropbox on PC enabled the user to enable synchronization of all files between desktop and cloud storage, which could require a lot of space on the hard disk. With Smart Sync, it is possible to choose which files to keep only on cloud space and which you download locally to your computer or Mac with the option "save local copy".
As you can see in the movie below and made by Dropbox to show you a preview of the new feature, the files you choose not synchronize on your PC or Mac but keep on the cloud are shown with the icon of a nearby cloud. The synchronized files are also flanked by a green check mark (the same as it is currently seen). When you want to access the file, just double-click it, and the file will be downloaded from the network and open (logically it needs to be connected to the Internet). To download a file to a PC, simply select the affected file (or folder) and choose the option "save local copy".
The functionality that Dropbox introduces with Smart Sync (literally 'smart sync') on the desktop is a function already available within the mobile app, and it works on Dropbox for Windows (10/8/7) as well as Apple's OS X .
