Microsoft may unveil on May 2nd, Windows Cloud, expecting a new low-cost Windows executable version on all devices, from smartphones to PCs through tablet and hybrid 2 in 1.
Microsoft sent out invitations to the press for an event scheduled in New York City on May 2, 2017.
According to rumors, Microsoft will announce new hardware and software devices in this event, though it is probably not yet time to get to know the new 2 in 1 Surface Pro 5 or the new Surface Book 2. Also, there is no anticipation for the much-anticipated Voiced phone Surface Phone.
In the invitation, Microsoft wrote the phrase "Learn what's new" and uses the "MicrosoftEDU" hashtag. And rumors in recent months have anticipated that Microsoft has worked on something new for the 'educational market'.
According to the forecasts, the Redmond company on May 2 will introduce Windows 10 Cloud, which is a new, low-cost version of Windows 10 executable on all devices, from smartphones to PCs through tablet and hybrid 2 in 1. Windows 10 Cloud should be Microsoft's response to Chrome OS, a platform used in Chromebooks that are widely used in US schools.
The Windows 10 Cloud operating system could push schools to order cheap devices powered by Microsoft's platform instead of cheap-powered laptops powered by Google's platform. However, it remains to be seen whether Microsoft will introduce its own hardware or if it will only make the platform available, leaving the manufacturers producing the devices.
Although it is not planned to present Surface Pro 5 or Surface Book 2 next May 2, it is not excluded that Microsoft might use the event to unleash a cheap and less powerful Superface tablet - not the ' Pro '- running Windows 10 Cloud.
We'll know more about what Microsoft has to unveil on May 2nd.
