Time to renew here to IFA 2017 also for Western Digital. The giant of storage has in fact thought of holding the Berlin show as the last appointment to renew its latest external disks, namely My Cloud Home and My Cloud Home Duo, the only ones who did not undergo a refresh with new design and new performance during the over the last period.
These are followed, like WD My Passport 2016 and My Book 2017, with square design. In this case the look remains white, accompanied by a squared and silvery texture in the bottom; in short, the usual new WD look, really enjoyable to see. The capabilities of WD My Cloud remain unchanged: through the network connection, you can have a real personal cloud, accessible from any device via Western Digital's online portal (and also via apps). You can also perform all the necessary uploads remotely. Saving an important document on the go on a smartphone has never been so easy.
The two external hard disks differ essentially in two respects: My Cloud Home Duo reaches larger storage cuts, up to 20 TB, and also has RAID 1 technology that provides additional security backup, especially for those who retain really important photo and video collections. Great potential in the cloud, but good also on a local network, thanks to a Gigabit port on the back, in addition to power and two other USB 3.0 ports for quick transfer of other storage devices (keyboards).
The cool ending surprise is that when you hear it, My Cloud Home 2017 is already available for Amazon shopping, starting at an unpopular price of 199 €. The Duo edition is still missing, which will only arrive in the following days.
