At the last Google I / O, the American giant announced the Confidential Mode for Gmail, a system to ensure that only the recipient of the email read the body of the message and nobody else. This is done both through the use of a verification before you can open the email (via password or token) or through self-destruction after a certain period of time of the email.
Since then we have not heard of Gmail's Confidential Mode, at least until the tweet you see below that tells us that finally this news is available in Gmail for Android.
Confidential mode is now available on mobile devices and can help you protect sensitive information from unauthorized access. Learn more about this feature → https://t.co/lmQNElH6C1 pic.twitter.com/Nxtx2yU0pG— Gmail (@gmail) August 16, 2018
To send a confidential e-mail in the app, just start to compose a new e-mail as you always did. From now on, however, there is a new option in the top overflow menu called "Confidential Mode". After selecting it, Gmail will ask you to choose a deadline and whether or not you need a password to open the message. You can always change your mind and remove or change the confidential settings before sending the e-mail.
Although it is a server-side update, we recommend that you download the latest version of the app by clicking on the appbox below which will bring you directly to the dedicated page of the Play Store.

Alternatively, below we leave you the link to proceed to download the APK file to be installed manually (APK Mirror has not been hit by the security flaw). In this case, we remind you to enable the permissions to install apps from unknown sources, ie all those downloaded outside the Play Store.
