Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 will receive operating system updates for two years and Android Go Pie will arrive in Nokia 2.1.
On May 29, HMD Global announced the new smartphone Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1, which are the second generations of Nokia 5, 3 and 2 launched in 2017, all provided with the 'pure' experience of Android 8 Oreo (Android One in Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Android Go in Nokia 2.1) and all ready to upgrade to Android 9 Pie soon after the release of the first final build by Google, which took place last August 6th. If HMD wants to keep the promises made, Android 9 will arrive within a few weeks on Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1.
Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 are smartphones with Android One, the 'stock' version of Android designed to offer more storage space and longer battery life, as well as the latest innovations based on Google's AI. Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 will receive three years of monthly security patches and two years of operating system updates, as guaranteed in the Android One program, which means that if Google will release Android Q in 2020, this should also come for these devices. This puts them among the safest phones on the market, always up to date with the latest Google services such as Google Assistant and Google Photos with unlimited free high quality photo storage.
Nokia 2.1 is a cheap device that comes with Android Oreo (Go edition), the version of Android designed for smartphones with 1GB of RAM or less, to offer a user experience of Android without problems. Nokia 2.1 will receive Android Pie (Go Edition).
Google announced on August 6th the final version of version 9.0 of its Android mobile operating system, Android 'Pie', but the main smartphone manufacturers had already started to learn about the new iteration of the platform thanks to developer preview released last March and from the public beta released by the IO 2018 developer conference held in May. Among the new features of Android P we remember: Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, App Actions and Slices, smart suggestions based on what they like to do plus, ML Kit, Redesigned Quick Settings, New Dashboard, App Timer, Wind Down, New Navigation System.
